I am working on a thing.
I am working on a thing. Somewhere in the middle of hourly comics month, I realized that actually creating art and having some semblance of a work ethic tends to cause more people to notice you, as opposed to generally doing absolutely nothing at all and then sitting back waiting for people to beat a path to your door.

So, I'm going to start doing real cartoonist junk. This basically means I want to write, draw, and eventually post some fiction pieces I have in my head. Lately I've been doing thumbnails and planning out a short piece I came up with two years-ish ago, and while I know that there is no way that it's going to turn out as well as I want it to, I also know that if I don't start sitting down and putting pencil to paper that I'll never do anything at all.

So uh yeah. Watch this space, I guess, and don't hate me too much for not putting up any journal comics in the last two weeks.

Here's a thumbnail that may or may not end up being a finished panel in my story. If you recognize the character that is probably because he is based very, very, closely on a person I know and admire very much.

What the hell kinda crazy talk is that?! I thought the world was supposed to beat a path to my door automatically simply because I exist.

Any minute now... yep. Gonna be right there, pounding on the door.

I'm excited. You have a real sweet style that I think will work really well for fiction! And seriously, after an entire month of hourly journal comics, I think you're covered haha.

Yay, I can't wait to see what you come up with.

You have got that right! I think the hardest thing is to do it anyway even though you can't do it perfectly. That's how you get better and closer to being able to do what you want.

Yeah, and honestly I'm kind of excited to sit and really dig into a project now. I think hourly comics month made me realize that I do have the ability to sit and work, and that it isn't too too torturous. We'll see, I guess.
